about
Janna Pelle is the founder of personalized songwriting company, Present Productions (
presentproductionsmusic.com), specializing in writing songs for "any occasion." After her Dad's diagnosis with high-risk MDS, or "pre-leukemia," he jokingly asked if she could write a song about a bone-marrow transplant. Janna took it seriously and did exactly that.
"Kick it in" is a common phrase said among runners to give each other that extra push to reach the finish line. Janna has cheered this to her father from the sidelines while he ran the New York City Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and many others.

lyrics
You always need to feel worse
You cannot feel better first
You know it doesn't quite hurt
You wish you believed your own words
Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in...
This is just another race you have to run
This is just another dive so take the plunge
Oh the journey isn't going to be fun
But you'll feel so alive when you're done
Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in...
This is just another mountain you can ski
After taking 2 or 3 shots of whiskey
This is just another cycling accident
You'll survive it but don't let yourself get bent
Out of shape and out of body out of mind
Oh, father you have always been too kind
And I'm so very thankful that you're mine
There were bells upon a hill, you make em chime
Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in....
What's this I feel behind me? Oh, no, it's just my shadow
But every time you find yourself flat on your face
You pick yourself up and get right back in the race
Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in.....
Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in, Kick it in.....
